Update as of October 29, 2020, at 4:00 p.m. CST
We want to provide an update on COVID-19 within our Oak Trace community. As part of our weekly resident and team member health center testing, we learned on Thursday, October 29th, that two of our residents tested positive for the virus. Both residents are currently asymptomatic and are being cared for by a designated team in an isolated area of our health center to reduce the risk of further exposure within our community.
We also learned of two additional team member cases of the virus. By way of recap, we have five active team member cases of COVID-19, and all are self-isolating at home with the support of our Human Resources team.
We understand that you have concerns and may have questions about COVID-19 and the current situation in our community. Please know we continue with our commitment to protect the health and safety of our residents and team members, and our team continues to be proactive in mitigating the risk of further exposure to the virus within our community.
Lifespace and Oak Trace continue to follow heightened infection control guidelines and we highly encourage residents to only leave the community for essential needs like groceries or critical medical appointments. Residents and team members are encouraged to practice social distancing and wear a mask or face covering when you interact with others in public settings. Proper hand hygiene including handwashing and the use of alcohol-based hand sanitizer are essential to preventing the spread of the virus. As we have done throughout the last several weeks, we will provide regular updates about our efforts to maintain a safe and healthy community.
We appreciate your support and continued adherence to the protocols we have implemented to protect our residents and team members. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Oak Trace management team.
